Response to (drunk) Labour Foreign Secretary (1966-68) George Brown at diplomatic reception: I shall not dance with you for three reasons. First because you are drunk, second, because this is not a waltz but the Peruvian national anthem and third, because I am not a beautiful lady in red; I am the Cardinal Bishop of Lima.

Welcome to the weekend, kiddies
The scene is Farm Aid, 1985, attended by a crowd of 80,000 people. The song is "How Blue Can You Get." And the key moment comes at the 3:10 mark, when King busts a guitar string, then manages to replace it before the song finishes minutes later. All the while, he keeps the song going, never missing a beat and singing the blues. Enjoy.

An Open Letter to Stephen Harper from Ralph Nader
"You are quoted as saying that "jihadi terrorism is one of the most dangerous enemies our world has ever faced" as a predicate for your gross over-reaction that "violent jihadism seeks to destroy" Canadian "rights." Really? Pray tell, which rights rooted in Canadian law are "jihadis" fighting in the Middle East to obliterate? You talk like George W. Bush. The rest HERE.

Colin James unplugs in Melfort
Colin James brought his Up Close and Personal acoustic tour to the CJVR Performing Arts Theatre in the Kerry Vickar Centre on Monday, May 4.
The intimate acoustic tour is giving the Regina-born performer a chance to see parts of the country he doesn't normally get to see.
"It's places that you don't usually get to, so that's kind of great. I usually get to Regina maybe once every couple of years," James said.

Osprey
Hard to believe this Osprey got 5-6 fish at a time and then got a flounder under 3 feet of water and made off with what looks to be a 5+ lb steelhead. Have you ever seen a bird shake water off like a dog does? Wouldn't want to get in its way when its eyes are locked onto you and his talons are in the "load" position! Notice how as soon as possible the Osprey turns his prey head-first into the wind to cut down on wind resistance.
There are 3 sequences in this one video:1st sequence - catches half a dozen fish in one strike.
2nd sequence - plunges talons into deep water to grab the prey.
3rd sequence - captures a big old fish that looks as if it weighs more than he does!

A conversation between my 3-year-old grandson and his mother
Grandson: "I want to see nipples."
His mother, my daughter: "Pardon me??"
Grandson: "I want to watch the show with nipples in it."
Mom: "What show is that?"
Grandson: "The one I watched with Grandma and Grandad."
Mom: "Uhhhh.... okay...."
Eventually established (by grandson picking the character out of the Netflix lineup) that he wanted to watch "Baby Jake".
Starring Baby Jake, of course.
