The Scum Also Rises

"There must have been a time when individuals entered politics with the goal of contributing to society, of making a meaningful contribution towards change and enlightenment: a better world for all if you will. The gratification, apparently, was derived from working in the service of others. That must have been once upon a time long, long ago in a far, distant land. Service to others. The politicians of today, hearing that, must laugh all the way to the bank. How touchingly naive."

Number 37: Being able to pull your penis out half-way to the toilet and using it like a witching wand to find water.

Headline: Saskatchewan unhappy with foreign worker rules

"... Saskatchewan doesn't have enough domestic workers and there's - quote - 'a crying need' for workers to fill jobs."

Dare I suggest that if you can't find the workers required to staff your business without bringing in underpaid foreign workers who have no rights, then maybe you don't have a viable business plan? That the business might not be economically viable? And that you might want to consider another line of business?

Headline: Conservatives approve Gateway pipeline

Oh, it's ON.

5 times Canadians were misled about the Northern Gateway Pipeline.

Myself, I think the end times are finally in sight.

This should do it.

This, for the CPC, I believe is the bridge too far.

This should be the final showdown, and the end of our national nightmare.

Here's hoping.

Marilyn and Ella - 1955

Marilyn Monroe with Ella Fitzgerald at the the Mocambo, a popular Hollywood night club at the time.

One that would not book Ella because of segregation.

Marilyn told the manager that she would reserve a front row table every night Ella performed there.

Ella performed a week later.
